Nia Carver, MSW, Supervisee in Social Work

Advisory Fellow

Nia Carver is a behavioral health professional and Substance Use Disorder Therapist with experience supporting individuals navigating both active addiction and recovery. Her work focuses on delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive care grounded in evidence-based clinical practices and real-world systems knowledge.

Nia previously served as an Emergency Services Social Worker and first responder for mental health crises, conducting assessments, providing stabilization support, and connecting individuals and families to emergency services and ongoing care. This frontline experience gave her a deep understanding of crisis intervention and the complexity of behavioral health needs across communities.

In her current role as a Substance Use Disorder Therapist, Nia develops therapeutic interventions and recovery-focused education models that empower individuals to build stability and wellness. She works directly with clients across the continuum of need including those in early sobriety, long-term recovery, and those still navigating active addiction.

Nia holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from George Mason University and a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Nia contributes to NJC Strategic Planning and Consulting, LLC strictly in an advisory-only capacity, offering insight informed by her direct clinical practice. Her role is non-operational and does not include consulting or client engagement.
